He Set His Face to Go to Jerusalem
The Gospel of Luke is divided into three rather clear sections. The first part tells of Jesus’ ministry in Galilee, including his visit to Nazareth and his time in and around Capernaum and the Sea of Galilee. The final section begins with his procession into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and the events of Holy Week. The middle section begins just after the Transfiguration when “He set his face to go to Jerusalem” and left Galilee to begin the journey south. During the next four Sundays in Lent we’ll explore a sampling of this material, which includes some of the most familiar of Jesus’ teachings and experiences.
