baptism, beloved, and #blessed
The church season after Christmas/Epiphany and before Lent traditionally begins with the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist (this Sunday) and ends with the Transfiguration, when Jesus is joined by Elijah and Moses as three of his surprised disciples look on. This year we’ll be focusing on these and other accounts from the life of Jesus as depicted in the Gospel of
Matthew. After the baptism story we’ll look at the early ministry of Jesus in and around the Sea of Galilee as Jesus calls his first disciples. We’ll then explore at least part of the Sermon on the Mount, particularly the statements which begin “blessed are” and are known as The Beatitudes. Join us as Matthew shows us how we are beloved and #blessed, in person at 10:30am or later in the day on YouTube.
